SOCIAL CLUB PURPOSE
Lake Region has many activities and most of these fall under various clubs and organizations. The Lake Region Social Club is the umbrella organization charged with the duty of scheduling the club house and coordinating between the various users. The vice president of the Social Club does the actual scheduling.
Since there are so many organizations we have a contact list posted on the Social Club Bulletin Board in the card room. If you are interested in a certain activity, for example; Quilting, the person or persons to contact will be listed under Quilt Club on the contact list.
Probably the best known club house activity is the Koffee Klatch. It takes place every Thursday morning in the main hall of the club house. There is a social hour from 7:30 to 8:30 with coffee and donuts, then an organized program with an emcee that covers new residents, birthdays, anniversaries, illnesses, out of part activities, and timely announcements and of course a 50/50. It is a good opportunity to meet your neighbors and keep up with what is going on in the park.
There are several bulletin boards to help keep you up to date on activities:
The West Foyer has all the Out Of Park Activities on the South Wall and general activities on the North Wall. Sign ups for Pot Luck, Bowling, Corn Hole, dances etc. can be found in this area.
The Card Room bulletin board has Social Club Information, A monthly calendar, event sign up forms, finance forms, and a contact list.
The board adjacent to the front entrance has entertainment committee events with information on the various shows.
The boards in the north-east foyer cover memorial information and park postings. The hall next to the east entrance has space for sale items and advertising.
The Social Club is run by a seven member board, elected for one year at a time.. There is a monthly meeting after Koffee on the second Thursday of the Month, November through March or as circumstances dictate.
Lake Region is run by volunteers and there are any number of opportunities to fill a position. You know your talents, interests and inclinations ---- we hope that you will join in our community and receive the benefits of the association.
Welcome to Lake Region ---- On Behalf of The Social Club, Bob Fore, Pres.
