LAKE REGION VILLAGE SOCIAL CLUB MINUTES OF MEMBERS MEETING JANUARY 11, 2018

Meeting was called to order by President Bob Fore. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present: President, Bob Fore; Vice President, Marilyn Rhodes; Treasurer, Bob Schmidt; Secretary, Susan Johnson; Directors, Steve Taylor, Marilyn .Mackie and Michelle Villeneuve.

 

President’s Comments: Bob Fore spoke about the up and coming election and asked people to consider volunteering.

 

Vice President, Marilyn Rhodes spoke on event scheduling. She also talked about social club membership fees and asked for volunteers to help with campaigning for signing up new members.

 

Secretary’s Report - Minutes of December 14, 2017 were approved as posted. It was announced that there now is a site created by Bruce Kelsey - LRVinfo.com which contains a contact list for residents as well as other valuable information.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Bob Schmidt advised the members that December figures should be available by early February. He spoke regarding money deposits from different clubs; the office will accept deposits only on Monday and Wednesday mornings. You may also drop off deposits to Bob at his home and he will turn them into the office. He advised that some clubs are wanting to hold a larger amount in their petty cash fund - the board will review the by-laws to see if the petty cash fund could be increased to 500 (five hundred dollars) and then revisit this request at a later date. A balance sheet as of November 30, 2017 was provided to all attending. Kitchen -

 

Director Marilyn Mackie spoke regarding responsibilities of clubs making sure the kitchen is left clean after using.

 

Patsy Zumwalt reported that the new sink for the kitchen is ordered and cost was $1169 plus tax & shipping and also a new stand and mixer purchased. She thanked all the clubs that donated.

 

Member Patty Singer spoke about the importance of volunteering and encouraged people to do so.

 

Dressing Rooms - Bob Schmidt advised members of the work that had been done - painting, reorganizing, better lighting, more storage and table space. Thanking all who volunteered in making this happen.

 

Christmas Dinner - Bob Fore thanked Bev Wolford for putting on a wonderful dinner and reported that there were approx 250 residents who attended.

New Year Dance - Mike Mikolayek reported a full house in attendance and that a lovely time was had by all.
 

Entertainment Committee - Bob Platt gave a report and thanked everyone. He reported that the entertainment committee has been providing pot luck and stage shows for over twenty years.
The profit that comes from the big stage shows generally pays for the pot luck shows but donations are also accepted for them. Any other excess funds are shared with other clubs and projects.

 

Christmas Decorations - Donna Stapleton gave a report. The committee purchased a new Christmas tree and eight new snowflakes for the park which was made possible from donations and fund raising.
 

Mary Ann Sammon reported that there will be a house decorating contest this coming christmas get your decorations early.
 

Boat Club - George Worden reported a successful Christmas cart parade and we will be doing it again this coming season.
 

Betty Akerman advised members that she had new banners and will coordinate the payment with Bob Schmidt - Banners are for general club use.
 

New Business - a suggestion that during the times the office is not taking deposits that there be a drop off box.
 

Meeting was adjourned at 10:30 am motion by Mary Ann Sammon and seconded by Betty Akerman
